Food delivery service Doordash has struck a commercial deal – covering both the US and Canada – with North American ice hockey's top-tier NHL.
Through a multi-year tie-up unveiled today, San Francisco-based DoorDash becomes the official on-demand delivery and pick-up partner for the 32-team league in both countries.

DoorDash has now become the presenting sponsor for all Wednesday night games covered by the Amazon Prime Video streaming service in Canada (both regular-season and Stanley Cup playoff fixtures).
In addition, the brand gains marketing rights including use of league marks and logos, integration across tentpole events such as the NHL Winter Classic and the NHL Stadium Series, and visible branding across nationally televised games through the Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards scheme.
The tie-up has been unveiled ahead of the 2026-27 NHL campaign getting underway on September 29.
DoorDash is also soon set to launch a "new NHL creative platform" across North America, as well as offering promotions and sweepstakes for NHL fans.
Amazon Prime Video snapped up Wednesday night NHL broadcasts in Canada through a 12-year sublicensing deal with telecoms giant Rogers in late July.
In terms of NHL commercial activity over the last few months, late June saw the league renew its regional tie-up with IT company Presidio, with the firm set to continue as an official technology and innovation partner of the property.
In terms of DoorDash's other sports sponsorship tie-ups, it also has deals in place with both the World Wrestling Entertainment and Ultimate Fighting Championship promotions, while earlier this year, it acted as a partner of soccer's 2026 FIFA World Cup, held across Mexico, the US, and Canada.
In addition, it has a multi-year agreement with Major League Soccer.
