EHF Marketing, the commercial arm of the European Handball Federation, has tied up with sports-focused video content provider WSC Sports in a four-year deal.

Through an agreement unveiled yesterday, WSC will become a key technology partner as the EHF looks to design a whole new "integrated media and content ecosystem" over the next few years.

The AI-powered technology solutions deployed by WSC will aim to help the EHF with its content creation, management, and distribution around the suite of EHF club competitions.

The EHF Marketing new Media and Content operations division will be supported by WSC Sports through the 2029-30 season, meaning EHF competition matches will be clipped, tagged, and uploaded to the relevant partners in rapid speed.

These clips and video content can also be tailored to different audiences.

This expanded content pool can now be published faster than before, giving fans quicker access, and also meaning clubs and even individual players can post on their own channels and digital platforms.

Aurele Weyeneth, director for rights and exploitation at EHF Marketing, commented: "Our partnership with WSC is an important step in building our new media and content ecosystem. It will enable us to create more content, get it out faster and make better use of it across our different channels. It also means we can give clubs and players much better access to content from their matches."

This week has already seen the EHF agree a licensing deal with Dyn Media, the German sports streaming platform, to distribute content from all EHF club competitions to media partners worldwide.

Ido Ratzon, WSC Sports' head of business development for EMEA, added: "Our platform will allow the EHFM and its teams to showcase the amazing quality of their competitions with game-changing technology, making them more efficient and enabling the creation of personalized highlights for their fans at speed and scale."

Mid-July saw WSC Sports enter into a strategic partnership with social media platform TikTok.

TikTok content creators are now able to use WSC Sports' technologies to find moments of sporting action quickly, then use the Magicrop WSC tools to turn their chosen clips into the right framing and format for TikTok.
