The Confederation of African Football (CAF) governing body has put a major set of media rights for its top-tier men's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) national teams tournament out to tender.
Egypt-based CAF unveiled this tender process at the end of last week, August 21, with a deadline for bid submissions of September 14.

The process covers both English and Portuguese rights – as well as local-language rights – to the 2027 AFCON (as well as to various other tournaments), in sub-Saharan Africa. It also stretches across both free-to-air and pay-TV rights.
These local languages are listed as: Swahili, isiZulu, Wolof, and Yoruba.
The 2027 AFCON will be held between June 19 and July 17, across three East African countries – Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Aside from the AFCON itself, this tender also covers the qualifying competition in advance of that tournament, as well as next year's Under-17 and Under-20 AFCONs, and this year's Futsal AFCON.
Earlier this month, CAF officially began the hunt for a partner who will provide host broadcast services at next year's AFCON.
The selected entity will be in charge of producing the international TV feed from that tournament for CAF and that body's licensed broadcasters.
Following the 2027 AFCON, all editions of that continental tournament will take place on a quadrennial basis – up until now, the AFCON has been held once every two years.
In terms of other ongoing CAF tenders, late July saw the governing body begin the process of finding a commercial partner agency for the next eight-year rights cycle.
The selected agency will sell global commercial rights – covering broadcast, other media, and sponsorship – across the 2028, 2032, and 2036 editions of the AFCON.
