Brazilian broadcaster Xsports has snapped up a package of rights in that market to the upcoming season of French men's soccer's top-tier Ligue 1.

Through a tie-up unveiled yesterday, Xsports will air three games per matchweek from the 2026-27 campaign of the 18-team Ligue 1 on its free-to-air channels.

Coverage will begin on August 21, as the season gets underway (with Marseille taking on Strasbourg).

The streaming service CazeTV will also air Ligue 1 action next season, with the league containing a number of Brazilian stars – including Marquinhos, captain of perennial title-winners Paris Saint-Germain.

CazeTV holds rights through a three-season agreement running until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Thiago Garcia, Xsports' vice president of relationship marketing, commented: "French football is known for its intensity, young talent, and a historical connection with Brazilian football. Seeing PSG and stars like Marquinhos and Dembélé on air delivers exactly what our audience is looking for in big games, global football stars, and in a way that is accessible to the public."

Xsports will add Ligue 1 to a soccer rights line-up that also includes Germany's top-tier Bundesliga, the Saudi Pro League, and the second-tier domestic men's league in Brazil.

For the rest of South America, meanwhile, Caliente TV holds Ligue 1 rights, with a deal to that effect having been struck in mid-2027, also stretching until the conclusion of 2026-27.

Domestically, the league is predominantly shown by Ligue 1's own in-house channel, as well as by pay-TV's BeIN Sports.
