Mexican soccer’s top-flight Liga MX has struck a new agreement with prediction-wagers business Polymarket for the US territory, capitalizing on its recent accord with technology firm Genius Sports.
Through this new agreement, Polymarket will serve as the official and exclusive prediction market sponsor of Liga MX in the US territory.

This partnership spans the Liga MX Apertura (opening)and Clausura (closing) annual campaigns, as well as the annual showpiece Campeón de Campeones match (which pits the Apertura and Clausura winners against each other), and the Supercopa de la Liga MX (contested in years when the same team wins the Apertura and Clausura).
Speaking on the deal, Polymarket president of sports business development Ari Borod said: “Liga MX is one of the most exciting and widely followed football leagues in the world.
"Genius Sports' official data and integrity infrastructure ensures every LIGA MX market on Polymarket is built on the foundation of trust and transparency the league and its fans deserve."
This will begin with the 2026-27 Liga MX campaign, starting with the July 25 Campeón de Campeones match, which will pit Toluca against Cruz Azul.
That game will be held in the US at Dignity Health sports park in Carson, California, reflecting the importance of the US market to Liga MX and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) governing body’s commercial strategy.
The massive Mexican diaspora in the US means that prominent Liga MX sides such as Club America and Chivas boast large, dedicated fanbases on both sides of the boarder that Polymarket will look to leverage through the partnership.
Verified data from these competitions will be collated by Genius Sports and shared with Polymarket to aid the accuracy of market creation and resolution.
Genius Sports will also support Polymarket with relevant integrity services.
This comes through Liga MX’s recent tie-up with Genius Sports, struck in May, which sees the GeniusIQ data and AI platform deployed across every Liga MX stadium.
While the FMF did lead on this partnership, this may be one of the last Liga MX deals to involve the governing body.
This is because the ownership groups of Liga MX clubs recently voted to reshape the country's sports landscape, separating the competition from the FMF.
In the future, the league will operate as an independent organization, a move in line with most of the globe’s other top-tier soccer properties, such as the Premier League and Spain's LaLiga, which are not tethered to the country’s governing bodies.
Similarly, Liga MX will also install a new president independent of any individual club to oversee the division.
The primary candidate for that role, reportedly, is Francisco Iturbide, currently the director general of competitions, operations, and development for Liga MX at the FMF.
