Movistar Plus, the Telefonica-owned Spanish pay-TV operator, has bolstered its basketball coverage via an agreement with sports streaming service DAZN that will see games from Spain’s top-tier Liga ACB made available to all Movistar Plus subscribers.
The agreement will see two games per matchday from Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, carried on the main Movistar Plus+ channel and Vamos por M+ sports channel, which are both available to all Movistar Plus subscribers.

Subscribers to the Movistar Sport package can already watch all matches of Liga Endesa through a carriage deal that gives them access to the DAZN Basketball channels, but the new deal makes the select matches available to Movistar’s subscription base.
The deal comes at a crucial time during the Liga ACB season, with teams fighting for a playoff spot.
Movistar’s coverage starts with this Sunday’s (April 12) fixtures between Unicaja and Valencia Basket, as well as a tie-up between Kosner Baskonia and Dreamland Gran Canaria, both of which have playoff implications.
The new deal adds to Movistar’s basketball offering, which includes pan-European men’s and women’s EuroLeague, events organized by governing body FIBA, and North America’s NBA, having lost its Liga Endesa rights to DAZN last year.
Last July, Liga ACB announced its decision to end its long-standing domestic broadcast partnership with Movistar and move to DAZN in a new multi-year deal.
Under the deal, from the 2025-26 campaign, DAZN covers every round of the Liga ACB, including post-season playoffs and the league-ending finals, and, for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign, will offer one match per week on free-to-air TV.
Through the partnership, DAZN also airs the Copa del Rey knockout competition.
The deal was a blow to Movistar Plus, having held rights in the country to the league since 2015, when it took over from public broadcaster RTVE.
However, last December, the pair expanded their carriage agreement, giving Movistar subscribers access to a slate of DAZN sports, including Liga ACB and a selection of games from the NBA and American football’s NFL, as well as one match per day from Serie A and the Bundesliga, the top soccer leagues in Italy and Germany, respectively.
Movistar Plus also covers Spanish soccer’s top-tier LaLiga until 2032, alongside DAZN, and last month added rights to England's iconic FA Cup competition through 2027-28.
DAZN, meanwhile, holds Spanish rights to the English Premier League in a deal running through 2027-28.
