The company will serve as the Catalan club’s official commercial banking partner in Indonesia.

The two-season partnership will see BRI launching a co-branded debit card and branding assets, including those of the men’s first team players, which will be supported by a series of online and offline fan engagement campaigns led by the Indonesian bank.

These include travelling opportunities to Barcelona, matchday experience at the revamped Camp Nou, visits to the Barca Immersive Museum, special discounts for premium club memberships, and other exclusive offers.

In other commercial developments involving Barcelona, the club have terminated their sponsorship agreement with blockchain technology firm Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) just over a month after announcing the deal.

The LaLiga outfit confirmed on Wednesday that the partnership, signed on November 14 and meant to run until 2028, has been cancelled due to a breach of contract.

According to the La Vanguardia outlet, Barca’s legal department moved swiftly after it emerged that the company was owned by controversial online figure Andrew Tate, who faces multiple criminal charges in the UK.

Concerns intensified when ZKP launched a new token promoted solely by Tate, raising fears Barca fans could be misled into a potentially fraudulent investment.

Barcelona previously distanced themselves from the token, stressing it was never part of the agreement.

In an official statement, the club said: “As a result of the breach of the agreed contractual conditions and after having carried out the appropriate verifications and analyses by the Compliance and Legal departments of the club, FC Barcelona has found that there are actions that do not comply with the terms and conditions established in the signed sponsorship agreement.

"Consequently, FC Barcelona has proceeded to terminate the aforementioned contract.

"The club reiterates that it has no connection with any token associated with said company, nor any responsibility or participation in its issuance or management, and that these elements were not foreseen in the signed agreement.

"FC Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to transparency, the protection of its institutional reputation and the rigorous compliance with the agreements it signs.”

Elsewhere, LaLiga has named global cryptocurrency exchange Toobit as a new regional partner in the Middle East and North Africa.

As part of the agreement, users on Toobit will have opportunities to engage with the 2025-26 LaLiga season, with key events planned to deliver exclusive LaLiga access and rewards for their activity on the exchange, including VIP trips to Spain to watch matches and official gear giveaways.

The two parties will also collaborate on additional fan engagement and education initiatives.
