Brazilian top-tier soccer side Atletico Mineiro has officially announced its agreement with US sportswear giant Nike, which will replace rival Adidas as the club's kit supplier from the 2026 Serie A season.

The new multi-year deal will see Nike supply the club’s men’s, women’s, and youth teams, as well as coaching staff – from match kits to training, travel, and casual wear.

Under the deal, Nike has pledged to manufacture more units (35,000) of Atletico Mineiro merchandise, with the team gaining a higher percentage of the earnings from their sale at 25%.

The deal comes as the club looks to expand its brand internationally, with Nike making space to present Atletico Mineiro products in its stores beyond Brazil.

Rafael Menin, Atletico Mineiro’s majority owner, said: “The club has always sought to be alongside the best, and this is a move that reinforces that objective.

“Nike is a global benchmark in sports, and having them with us represents an important step for the present and future of Atlético, the biggest club in Minas Gerais. This partnership strengthens our brand, our sports project, and positions us at the highest level of excellence.”

The deal was widely reported after being leaked by Menin’s father, Rafael, on his Instagram account late last year. At the time, it was reported that Adidas would see out its contract through 2025, having supplied the club since 2022.

Before that, French manufacturer Le Coq Sportif held the designation.

Adidas’ other kit supply agreements in the Brazilian Serie A include Flamengo, Cruzeiro, and Internacional, while Nike has only one other partnership in place – a deal with Corinthians, which started in 2022.

Corinthians’ partnership with Nike runs through the end of the upcoming 2025 season, although a clause is in place that could extend it through 2029 – the club is reportedly seeking better financial terms to do so.

Atletico Mineiro, meanwhile, brought in H2bet as its new primary sponsor in a deal the club calls “the biggest” in its history, and in the history of soccer in the Minas Gerais region.

That three-year contract, which will see H2bet become the shirt sponsor of Atletico Mineiro, is, according to the club, worth a minimum total of R$180 million ($29 million), a fee which could rise to R$200 million with the addition of performance-related bonuses.
