Prominent UK radio network TalkSport has announced a new broadcast partnership with EuroLeague Basketball, the promoter of European basketball’s elite EuroLeague and secondary EuroCup, to cover the London Lions.

Across the 2025-26 campaign, London Lions games from the EuroCup, known as the BKT EuroCup for sponsorship reasons, will be aired live and free-to-air on TalkSport’s YouTube Channel.

This means a minimum of 18 regular-season EuroCup games will feature on the channel, running through February 2026, with the prospect of the postseason round-of-16, quarter finals, semi finals, and finals also to be shown on the channel, depending on the team’s progression.

The channel boasts 1.76 million subscribers, and mostly hosts video programming based on TalkSport’s radio shows, as well as interviews and other ancillary content.

Speaking on the deal, EuroLeague Basketball chief marketing and communications officer Alex Ferrer Kristjansson commented: “Bringing London Lions games to a free-to-air platform together with talkSPORT is a significant milestone in Euroleague Basketball’s commitment to expanding the sport in the UK. With talkSPORT’s powerful reach and engaged fanbase, we are confident more British fans will connect with the excitement of the BKT EuroCup.”

IMG, EuroLeague Basketball’s long-term commercial rights distribution partner through 2035-36, brokered the TalkSport agreement.

As a major European capital, London is often cited as a ‘sleeping giant’ of basketball when compared to continental giants such as Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens, and Istanbul, and the EuroLeague has made a concerted effort to expand its presence in the market.

Through the campaign, London Lions will face prominent international opposition such as Germany’s Ratiopharm Ulm, Turkey’s Besiktas Gain, and Italy’s Dolomiti Energia Trento.

The 2025-26 EuroCup campaign began on September 30, with London Lions’ first fixture, an 86-59 loss to Montenegrin side Budućnost VOLI, taking place on October 2.

This season marks the Lions’ return to the EuroCup for the first time since the 2023-24 campaign, in which the team advanced through to the semi-finals.

At the time, the team was powered by investment from the now-defunct 777 Partners, but the dire straits UK basketball has encountered in the past two years mean a repetition of that feat is unlikely.

Domestically, London Lions play in the Super League Basketball competition, which is shown on the sports-focused OTT streaming platform DAZN.
