Professional Squash Association Elects New-look Board

Members of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) have elected a new-look board which was announced at today’s (Saturday) Annual General Meeting in Belgium, staged during the Men’s World Open in Antwerp.

The new members are England’s world No10 Mark Chaloner; world No16 Welshman Alex Gough; Irish businessman Martin Macdonald; and Canada’s world No22 Graham Ryding – who join existing members Robert Graham, the US-based former English player; England player Tony Hands; and Jack Herrick, the Chairman from the USA.

Executive Director Gawain Briars was delighted at the response from PSA members in voting in the new board: ‘It was a stunning vote by the Association, in which almost three times the usual votes were cast, contrasting the usual apathy which members have shown to the election of
its board,’ said Briars in Antwerp. ‘This has been a great reflection on the recent reforms we have introduced to encourage greater participation from members,’ Briars pointed out.

‘While warmly welcoming our new members to the board, I would like to pay tribute to the long and loyal service given to the PSA by former board members Robert Edwards and David Palmer, and former players Rodney Eyles and Mark Cairns who both offered their resignation,’ Briars added.
