INDIANAPOLIS (September 24, 2004 ) – The fervent support that the Champ Car World Series receives from Mexican sponsors, partners, and fans is a cornerstone of its success. Today, the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford made those ties even stronger by announcing that Roshfrans would become the first Mexican company to ever become an official series sponsor.

Roshfrans and Champ Car today joined into a multi-year agreement to become the Official Lubricant of Champ Car. The company’s synthetic oils will run in each of the Ford-Cosworth XFE engines that power all of the cars in the series, and Roshfrans’ complete line of lubricating products will be available for use on all parts of the 750hp turbocharged Champ Cars.

‘As a Mexican company, we are very confident in the new Champ Car administration and are eager to participate in the growth of such an outstanding racing series,’ said Sergio Platonoff, Commercial Director for Roshfrans. ‘The diversity of Champ Car competition demands the finest quality products and we believe this competition will further enhance Roshfrans’ reputation as being among the best.’

Roshfrans products, which include not only engine lubricants but cooling and transmission fluids as well as all types of greases and additives, will also be used on the fleet of Champ Car Safety trucks as well as the specially-prepared cars of the Champ Car Fast Lap pace car program.

Founded in 1955, Roshfrans has a vast presence in motorsports in Mexico and around the world. The company has backed Michel Jourdain Jr., Mario Dominguez and Ryan Hunter-Reay in the Champ Car World Series as well as a team in the Formula Renault Series The Copa Roshfrans series run exclusively with Ford Mustangs is very popular in Mexico and ran as a support event to the Champ Car event in Monterrey, Mexico earlier this season.
