Eurosport 2, the new generation sports channel, will broadcast LIVE coverage throughout the entire season of the TOP 14 from 26 October 2007 to 28 June 2008, on Fridays in prime time, in all Eurosport 2’s territories, except France.

The TOP 14 is the French Rugby premiership gathering the best 14 clubs in France. It is a world-class championship featuring some of the best players in the world. The majority of the French World Cup team plays in the TOP 14, which will also welcome for the 2007-2008 season more than 60 foreign players who competed in the 2007 World Cup.

Viewers can admire stars such as Byron Kelleher (New Zealand, Toulouse), the 2007 South African World Champions Percy Montgomery (Perpignan) and John Smit (Clermont), Juan Martin Hernandez (Argentina, Stade Français), as well as other great players like Perry Freshwater (England, Perpignan), Ignacio Corleto (Argentina, Stade Français), Scott Murray (Scotland, Montauban), Mauro and Mirco Bergamasco (Italy, Stade Français) and Henry Tuilagi (Samoa, Perpignan).

The TOP 14 features the following teams: Albi, Auch, Bayonne, Biarritz, Bourgoin, Brive, Castres, Clermont, Dax, Montauban, Montpellier, Paris (Stade Français), Perpignan and Toulouse.

Players from the French national squad, semi-finalists at the 2007 World Cup, compete in the TOP 14. The most famous ones are Yannick Jauzion, Fabien Pelous and Jean-Baptiste Ellisalde from Toulouse, Serge Betsen from Biarritz and Christophe Dominici from Stade Français.

The coverage of the Rugby TOP 14 enhances Eurosport 2’s prime time offer in team sports, joining the Live broadcast on the channel of the Basketball, Volleyball and Handball competitions.
