The inaugural event, taking place on the 7th January in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers will bring together service providers, Middle Eastern investors, international rights holders and brand representatives to discuss the opportunities and challenges for football in the Middle East.
The Opening Ceremony of the exclusive 1 day Forum will see senior officials in UAE’s sports industry attending: Dubai Sports Council president H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Saad Al-Sharif will be joined by National Bonds Corporation Nasser Bin Hassan Al Shaikh & Football Legend Bryan Robson in welcoming the 250 delegates.
Expert in his field, Ray Whelan, Chairman of MATCH, who worked with the Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup Bid, the South Africa 2006 Bid, the Libyan and Tunisian Bids for 2010 as well as helping the CBF with their documentation for the 2014 Bid, will outline his views on the benefits of bidding for and potentially hosting a major sports event.
Senior representatives from the clubs taking part in the ‘Mohammed bin Rashid International Football Championship’ VFB Stuttgart, Ajax Amsterdam, Inter Milan, and Sport Club Internacional will be on-hand to share their invaluable expertise and insight.
A global cross section of football industry executives will host the penultimate panel: Umberto Gandini, Organising Director of AC Milan and Galatasaray SK Board Member Ahmet Raif Unuvar will be joined by Andy Knee, Championship Director of The Football League and U. Balasubramaniam, CEO, Dubai Sports City. The intensive day will conclude with football legends discussing the motivation of world-class footballers, with Graeme Souness, Christian Karembeu and Phil Thompson debating whether ‘Form is temporary, Class is permanent’.
