Sportsworld in Interactive Game Deal with ESPN

Sportsworld Media Group’s interactive division has signed a unique deal with ESPN Star Sports that will see the company produce five interactive fantasy sport games this year.

The deal will also see Sportsworld feed in statistics and results from it’s fantasy cricket game, Super Selector, to ESPN Star Sports to form the content of a brand new TV show based around the interactive game.

Launched in mid September to coincide with England’s trip to Zimbabwe and the triangular tournament currently taking place in South Africa, Super Selector gives cricket fans around the world the chance to select their own players for the next 6 months of International cricket. Players score points based on runs, wickets, catches, stumpings and run-outs.

The game has already proved to be one of the most successful games ever produced by Sportsworld with over 120,000 users registering within two weeks of launch.

A number of celebrities are involved in the TV show including former cricket legends Geoffrey Boycott, Sunil Gavaskar, Navjot Sidhu and Maninder Singh. The show itself is hosted by major ‘Bollywood’ star Naseeruddin Shah. ESPN have also employed an astrologer to try and predict the best players.

Sportsworld’s Group Head of Interactive, Andrew Deeks said, ‘There’s been a phenomenal response to Super Selector making it one of Sportsworld’s most popular interactive games ever. We’re expecting registration to climb even further when the TV show begins.’

Winners of Super Selector win an all-expenses paid trip to South Africa to see a first class International match and sit along side the ESPN commentary team in the press box.

Sportsworld will go on to produce a Premier League and Champions League game and a further two football predictor games for ESPN Star Sports.
