Computer and Mathematical Occupations drive internet of things-related hiring activity
Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 21%, emerged as the top internet of things-related job roles within the sports industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 28% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 26% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent internet of things roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in sports industry accounted for 35% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Siemens, DISH Network, Robert Bosch, Samsung Electronics, and Orange. Together they accounted for a combined share of 35% of all internet of things-related new jobs in the sports industry.
Siemens posted 1,396 internet of things-related new jobs in Q3 2023, DISH Network 963 jobs, Robert Bosch 837 jobs, Samsung Electronics 811 jobs, and Orange 708 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 34.33% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of internet of things-related new job postings in the sports industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 34.33% followed by India (12.15%) and Germany (9.40%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point lower than the 35.33% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
