Pelicans name Ibotta as new jersey patch sponsor
The New Orleans Pelicans, of North American basketball’s NBA, and mobile technology company Ibotta have agreed a jersey sponsorship deal for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
Ibotta replaces New Orleans-based food company Zatarain’s which had a three-year agreement with the franchise until the end of the 2019-20 campaign worth around $7 million per year.
The Pelicans’ new deal with Ibotta was brokered by Denver-based sports marketing agency Impression Sports and Entertainment.
The Ibotta logo will feature on the left shoulder of all editions of the Pelicans’ game jerseys this season, which begins on 22 December.
The partnership includes various marketing and community initiatives, along with in-arena, digital and social media assets.
The Pelicans become the second NBA team to announce a new jersey sponsorship deal this week after the Los Angeles Clippers partnered with tech company Honey.
