Hurricane tasked with growing action sports in China
Hurricane, the French company behind the FISE World Series of action sports events, has entered into a strategic partnership with Shanghai Edwin Sports Development Co focused on growing action sports across China.
Hurricane will work closely with Edwin Sports on the design and construction of skate parks and other actions sports venues and training centres.
The agreement was signed today in Shanghai by Edwin Sports general manager Zhou Qihe and Hurricane general manager for Asia, Thibaut Girardot.
Chengdu, China has been a regular stop on the FISE World Series over the past few years.
Aside from organising FISE events, Hurricane has a strong consultancy business, working with local organisers of action sports events on field of play concepts.
It has been working closely with Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games organisers on the venues for the urban sports of 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle, skateboarding and sport climbing on the programme, and last year was brought on board by the Global Association of International Sports Federations for the inaugural World Urban Games in Budapest.
