Liqui Moly to sponsor 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships
European Athletics, track and field's continental governing body, has today unveiled Liqui Moly, the Germany-based automotive lubricant brand, as a top-tier sponsor of the 2021 Indoor Championships in Poland.
Under the deal, Liqui Moly will benefit from marketing rights which include track advertising boards, digital rights, ticketing, VIP hospitality and fan activation at the event in Torun.
The brand is reconnecting with the governing body after previously sponsoring the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam.
Liqui Moly was also named as a top sponsor of this year’s European Athletics Championships in Paris, which was scheduled to take place in August, but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Dobromir Karamarinov, European Athletics interim president, said: “As official partner, Liqui Moly will benefit from an extensive range of marketing benefits, including European-wide television exposure thanks to our long-term deal with our official broadcast partner Eurovision. We are now looking forward to re-establishing our relationship with them and working closely together.”
Ernst Prost, managing director of Liqui Moly, added that “the extensive media coverage of the European Athletics Indoor Championships will help make the Liqui Moly brand even more recognisable worldwide.”
The German company joins established European Athletics sponsors Spar, the food retailer, and Le Gruyère, the renowned Swiss cheese brand, and Toyo Tires, the Japanese tyre manufacturer, as top-tier partners of the championships.
Mondo, the Italian sports equipment company, is an official supplier of the championships.
The Indoor Championships are scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 March, 2021.
