PSV extend deal with NH Hotels; Dortmund lay two-year tracks with Hankook
PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch soccer giants, have signed a one-year extension to their commercial partnership with NH Hotel Group, a multinational hotelier.
NH Hotels, which first partnered with PSV in the summer of 2019, will remain in place as the club’s hotel partner until the end of the 2020-21 season.
Club players and staff will continue to stay in accommodation organised by NH Hotels before and after both home and away matches, as well as during tournaments and training camps outside the Netherlands.
The club will also carry on using its partner's hotels for meetings, conferences and to host dinners events.
PSV’s commercial director, Fans Janssen, said: “The collaboration with the NH Hotel Group went so well over the past year that we both chose to extend it for at least another year. The hotels offer the players and employees a comfortable and recognisable home base that they can always rely on.”
PSV’s first team will, for all home games in the 2020-21 season, use the NH Conference Centre Koningshof as their base.
The deal adds to the two PSV struck last week; a new three-year arrangement with MaxiMondo, an online sales platform, which will initially be a sponsor before becoming a partner, and then a six-year extension with Van Kaathoven, a waste management firm.
In neighbouring Germany, Borussia Dortmund have extended their partnership with Hankook Tire, the South Korean tyre manufacturer, for two more years.
Hankook and Dortmund first partnered in 2009, and the two will continue to collaborate to offer fans “exciting campaigns and competitions” until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, according to a statement.
The Hankook brand logo will continue to be present in and around the club’s Signal Iduna Park home stadium - on LED advertising boards, on media interview backdrops, and in other locations visible on television coverage.
Carsten Cramer, Dortmund’s managing director, said: “We can look back on 11 years together with Hankook, and the contract extension is a compliment to all our fans out there, who make us an attractive partner.”
Hankook is no stranger to top-tier European soccer partnerships; it has been a global sponsor of Spanish giant Real Madrid since 2016, and is also a sponsor of European club soccer’s Uefa Europa League until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
