Telepizza delivers more for Spanish soccer with LaLiga deal
Telepizza, the leading Spanish pizza delivery brand, has stepped up its support for soccer in the country by committing to a three-year sponsorship deal with LaLiga.
The agreement comes into effect for the second weekend of the 2020-21 season, with the company to receive branding at and around top-tier LaLiga and second-tier Segunda División matches, including in stadiums and on online platforms and social networks.
In particular, the Telepizza logo will appear alongside other LaLiga sponsors on the televisual ‘U’ at matches in the top two divisions.
The new deal builds on the brand’s existing sponsorship of LaLiga Genuine Santander, the league for players with intellectual disabilities, which dates back to the 2018-19 season.
This has entailed a commitment to feature at least one player from each of the teams that make up the league in its stores across Spain. Some 18 players have been incorporated to date, with the number expected to rise to 40 by the end of this year.
Óscar Mayo, LaLiga's director of business, marketing and international development, said: “We are happy to have Telepizza, a leading company, represented in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank. This is a very special partner for us with whom we have shared great moments already. We are sure that we will go much further with this new agreement.
Manuel Loring, EMEA chief executive of the company’s parent Food Delivery Brands, added: “The relationship between Telepizza and the world of football has always been very close, delivering our products to millions of homes on match days. Thanks to this alliance with LaLiga, we are taking another step forward, consolidating our commitment to football in the more than 4,000 locations where we are present in Spain. In addition, this sponsorship will be a key lever for our franchisees and will bring them great benefits.”
