PGA of America expands partnership with National Car Rental
The PGA of America, the organiser of the US PGA Championship, one of golf's four majors, has agreed an expanded sponsorship deal with National Car Rental.
The company will continue to serve as the official rental car of the PGA of America, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup USA, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.
National will use these tentpole events "to engage with our core consumer target, the business traveler and corporate-decision makers."
The Missouri-based rental company will also continue to be prominently involved in the PGA Junior League and the PGA Junior League Championship.
Under the agreement, National's branding will be featured throughout this year’s PGA Championship broadcast from TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, as part of the PGA of America’s new on-course signage platform.
The PGA Championship, originally due to be held from 14 to 17 May, was rearranged due to the coronavirus pandemic and will run for four days from this Thursday to Sunday behind closed doors.
The major tournament was traditionally staged in mid-August but was brought forward to May, starting in 2019.
In other majors in the country, the US Open was postponed from July to a later date in September, while The Masters was switched to mid-November.
The PGA of America last month also postponed the Ryder Cup, which was scheduled for September, until next year.
