ONE Championship partners with Microsoft to increase digital fan engagement
ONE Championship, the Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion, has agreed a strategic partnership with technology giant Microsoft to enhance the digital fan experience.
Under the agreement, Microsoft will become the promotion’s cloud and data services provider.
Through the partnership, ONE will utilise the Microsoft cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, to “transform digital fan experiences and enhance collaboration for employees."
ONE will use the Microsoft Azure technology to "accelerate the promotion’s streaming services and personalised content offerings for its global fan base” while seeking to “better engage fans and provide them with reimagined, tailor-made experiences.”
The MMA promotion will use AI-powered recommendation engines and analytics on fan behaviour and provide fans with data and statistics.
Internally, ONE will use the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams platforms to help ensure collaboration for its employees in remote working environments.
The organisation’s content stacks will also be featured in the Microsoft News ecosystem.
Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and chief executive of ONE Championship, said the tie-up with Microsoft "can accelerate our capabilities and digital presence."
Philippe Courtois, executive vice-president and president, Microsoft global sales, marketing and operations, added: “Demand for digital experiences has never been higher and our partnership with ONE Championship will enable them to deliver on this opportunity in innovative new ways and enhance the services they provide for supporters, athletes and employees.”
ONE will return after the coronavirus-enforced hiatus with an event in Thailand later this month, the first such competition since February.
