Opro increases rugby prominence with MLR and NZRL deals
OPRO, the UK-based manufacturer of mouthguards for athletes, has agreed new partnerships with Major League Rugby, the North American professional rugby union competition, and New Zealand Rugby League, the sport’s domestic governing body.
Under the deal with MLR, which was announced today, OPRO will serve as the official mouthguard provider of the league and supply every player from the 12 franchises.
The brand said its new agreement with MLR “underpins OPRO’s commitment to supporting rugby in North America,” as it also has official partnerships with USA Rugby and Rugby Canada.
Daniel Lovat, OPRO’s sports marketing director, said: “We are delighted to be partnered with Major League Rugby ahead of the highly anticipated 2020 season and to be able to continue to grow our influence in America, a key market for us.
“We look forward to working with Major League Rugby as they continue to help grow the game of rugby in North America.”
As part of a three-year deal with NZRL, OPRO will also be its official mouthguard supplier and provide the Kiwis men’s and women’s national teams and the Junior Kiwis for their international campaigns.
The sponsorships strengthen OPRO’s prominence in rugby as it is the mouthguard partner of over 75 teams, including the national rugby union teams of New Zealand, England, Australia and USA.
