Man City launch enhanced OTT service; AC Milan go on TikTok
English soccer giants Manchester City have rolled out City+, a new over-the-top subscription service, offering exclusive content to their fans worldwide.
The platform, which builds on last July’s launch of Man City for TV, includes full match replays of men’s and women’s matches 24 hours after they take place, original CityTV productions and selected live women’s and academy games.
It is available on the Manchester City website, app and Smart TV
City+ costs £1.99 ($2.61), but there is a 30-day free trial.
To mark the launch of the new offering, the club has released a new CityTV documentary entitled ‘Made in Gran Canaria’ to celebrate the career of captain David Silva, who is in his last season at the Etihad Stadium.
Nuria Tarre, the chief marketing officer of City Football Group, said: “Following the launch of our OTT platform last year, we wanted to continue enhancing the viewing experience for fans and offer greater flexibility to consume our content. We’re now rolling our exclusive content out across our digital estate.”
Meanwhile, AC Milan have become the fourth Italian Serie A club to launch an official account on TikTok, the China-based video-sharing platform.
The account at @acmilan will offer a variety of content, including match highlights, behind-the-scenes and special celebrations videos, challenges for users and bespoke live content featuring the youth teams.
Lamberto Siega, the marketing and digital director of AC Milan, said:“The launch of our official TikTok account is a further step towards the development of AC Milan’s digital touchpoints. This platform is used by millions of people around the world, so our aim is to reach a new, younger audience through the creation of innovative and engaging content, consistent with AC Milan's growth and innovation targets.”
