Hamburg and Popp renew sleeve deal for second time
Popp Feinkost, the German foods supplier, has extended its sleeve sponsorship of Hamburg, of German soccer's second-tier 2. Bundesliga, until the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
The two parties announced the contract extension today, with Popp to get brand presence on LED boards and cam carpets in the Volksparkstadion.
The renewal was brokered by Lagardère Sports Germany, Hamburg's marketing agency until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Popp signed a two-year contract ahead of the 2017-18 season as sleeve sponsorship was introduced in Gerrman soccer for the first time, with an additional one-year deal subsequently signed.
Hamburg had been the only ever-present club in the top-tier Bundesliga since the league’s inception in 1963, but ended their 55-year stay after being relegated after the 2017-18 season.
They narrowly missed out on an immediate return to the top-flight last season.
