Inter Milan take a punt on Bwin as first betting sponsor
Inter Milan, of Italian soccer’s Serie A, have signed up Bwin as their official betting sponsor.
Under the deal, Bwin, which becomes Inter's first partner from the sector, gains visibility rights and live in-play odds branding across LED perimeter boards at the team's matches at the San Siro stadium.
It will also feature on Inter’s digital platforms and social media channels, with exclusive betting offers for fans.
Bwin adds the Italian club to a portolio of soccer tie-ups, which already includes Germany's Borussia Dortmund and Spain's Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal.
The company is a former shirt sponsor of Inter's local rivals AC Milan and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The deal with Bwin is the latest sponsorship agreement signed by Inter Milan since Suning, the Chinese electronics retailer, paid a reported €270 million ($307 million) for a near 70-per-cent holding in the club in June last year.
Since then, the Suning Holdings Group, the ownership consortium and retailer, has become the sponsor of the club’s training facilities and apparel.
Pirelli, the Italian tyre maker, is the long-standing sponsor of Inter's playing shirts.
