Uefa Begins Champions League TV Rights Sales for 2003-04-2005-06
UEFA today announced the start of the overall sales process for UEFA Champions League television rights for the seasons 2003/04, 2004/05 and 2005/06. The sales process will be conducted on UEFA’s behalf by TEAM Marketing AG.
Sales will be conducted on a market-by-market basis. As a result of the agreement between UEFA and the European Commission, in EU / EEA countries the sales process will involve an ‘Invitation to Tender’ (ITT) inviting all Qualified Broadcasters to submit offers for various television rights packages.
For these purposes, a ‘Qualified Broadcaster’ is a television broadcast organisation that holds a television broadcast license for the relevant territory and that has the appropriate infrastructure, resources and standing to broadcast UEFA Champions League programming.
The sales process will be staggered with different start and end dates per market with the first market being the United Kingdom. The ITT for the United Kingdom is available to Qualified Broadcasters from TEAM Marketing AG. Requests should be sent by e-mail to the following address: itt@team.ch.
An updated list of EU / EEA countries where an ITT has been issued will be posted regularly on UEFA’s website at the following address: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/News/Kind=8192/newsId=29438.html.
Once an ITT is announced on the above mentioned website address, Qualified Broadcasters will be able to request the ITT from TEAM Marketing AG at the above e-mail address. For the avoidance of doubt, no other press release will be issued giving details per market of such sales process.
