The Scottish Rugby Union today announces the appointment of the Sportsworld Media Group as sponsorship and event management consultants.

The three-year agreement will play a key part in the Union’s drive to develop the game of rugby in Scotland.

SRU Commercial and Marketing Director Phil Anderton said: ‘The primary remit of Sportworld will be in the area of sponsorship. They will be looking to bring on board new sponsors who will help to develop rugby in Scotland to complement the excellent work of our existing portfolio of sponsors.

‘In addition, Sportsworld will help us with perimeter advertising and event management at Murrayfield Stadium. They also have an arm which specialises in television production with which we’re keen to work in order to showcase the dynamic personalities involved in playing the game in Scotland. The idea would be that such productions could then be sold to broadcasters.

‘This is all part of our vision to take rugby to a new level by attracting and exciting a new and wider audience.’

Sportsworld already represents a strong roster of international sports federations including the England and Wales Cricket Board, the English Football Association and Dubai Rugby Sevens.
