SBT, the Brazilian commercial network, has confirmed it will show the upcoming Copa America Femenina, the women’s pan-South American national teams soccer tournament.

The broadcaster initially secured free-to-air rights to the competition last year as part of its deal with the CONMEBOL governing body for the men’s edition of the Copa America.

However, despite acquiring the rights, SBT had not confirmed any specific plans for the tournament and planned to take a final decision in regards to its coverage levels this month.

Pay-TV rights for the Copa America Femenina were secured by commercial broadcasting giant Globo last month (April).

Globo will broadcast 10 matches from the 10-team competition – which will be held in Colombia between July 8-30 – on its pay-TV SporTV channel.

The games covered by Globo will include all matches of the Brazilian national team.
