Melbourne (AUS), March 31, 2007 – Following the report by a sector of the foreign media, FINA confirms that an appeal has been lodged to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) on a doping control test conducted by ASADA (Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority).

Lausanne (SUI), July 28, 2004 – FINA, the swimming world governing body, acknowledged with regret the statements made by the great swimming champion Ian Thorpe (AUS) and his intention to bring the sport of swimming into disrepute by saying in an interview on Channel 7 (Australia) on July 27, 2004: 'For anyone to think that they’re swimming at a clean Olympic Games they’d be naive' and 'Of course I’ve swum against athletes that have been on drugs'.

British Swimming is the latest governing body to show its commitment to drug-free sport by signing up to UK Sport’s out-of-competition testing of individuals programme. Details of elite athletes with a disability will be included on the testing register.
