Setanta Sports, the international pay-television operator, has today announced that it has renewed its exclusive rights deal in Ukraine for English soccer’s Premier League for another three seasons.
The renewed agreement runs from the 2022-23 season through to 2024-25.

The new rights deal will also see a significant increase in the number of live games available for broadcast as Setanta will air all 380 games each season across its linear TV and digital platforms.
Under the existing agreement, the pay-TV operator shows over 230 Premier League games exclusively live – around six per week.
The Premier League was one of the first properties acquired by Setanta when it launched in Ukraine in 2019, signing a three-year deal until the end of this season.

In addition to the Premier League, Setanta Sports is the exclusive home of England’s domestic cup competitions the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, as well as the second-tier English Football League.
Setanta’s soccer portfolio also includes Germany’s Bundesliga, Belgium’s Pro League and the Scottish Premiership.

Meanwhile, the Premier League has appointed Mai Fyfield and Dharmash Mistry to its board as independent non-executive directors following a unanimous vote by shareholders.
The duo have been appointed on three-year terms, while Kevin Beeston has been reappointed for a further term, having already served six years on the board.
After beginning her professional career working in regulation and litigation for economic consultancy firms, Mai spent nearly 20 years at pay-TV giant Sky, most recently as chief commercial and strategy officer.
Among her responsibilities, she led on strategy for Sky’s Premier League bidding process over three commercial cycles.
Dharmash is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience building global consumer-facing and digital businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Among his professional roles, he was group managing director of media company Emap’s consumer division and a partner at European venture capital firms Balderton Capital and Lakestar.
The Premier League is now beginning the search for an additional independent non-executive director to complete the composition of “a new and diverse” board.
The board currently consists of chairman Gary Hoffman, chief executive Richard Masters and Beeston.
