Screach to stream Fite and Fightzone content in commercial properties

Screach, the UK-based sports streaming platform has teamed up with combat sports networks Fite and Fightzone to deliver their content to commercial venues in more than 150 countries.

The agreement will allow commercial properties across many territories, including bars, cafes, hotels, restaurants and gyms, to stream content from the combat platforms.

Through the partnership, Fite and Fightzone are seeking to have access to “potentially vast new audiences.”

The tie-up with the networks comes several months after the Screach platform launched internationally through technology firm Screenreach.

In May, Screach made its app available to commercial venues in 157 countries (after launching in the UK in late 2019), having secured $2 million in investment.

Fite said its strategic partnership with Screach “marks a significant milestone in its global expansion into the enterprise space that will expose its consumer proposition to a global audience.”

The streaming service, which was launched in the US in 2016 and has over 10 million users, provides live free-to-air and pay-per-view coverage of sports including boxing, wrestling and mixed martial arts.

In April, Fite was acquired by TrillerNet, the sports, fashion and entertainment technology company.

Fightzone, a boxing-dedicated global OTT platform, was launched in April earlier this year through Red Bee Media, the London-headquartered broadcast and media services company.

Through that agreement, Fightzone is to post 50 live fights on Red Bee’s over-the-top subscription platform every year.

Fightzone shows live bouts featuring the top British and international boxers as well a host of on-demand highlights and behind-the-scenes access to fighters.

Screach links rights-holders such as leagues and federations with the commercial premises, initially in 11 key markets over the next year, and aims to provide these content owners with over-the-top solutions for commercial venues, in the same way many have already developed mobile apps and platforms for consumer offerings.

The platform’s cloud-based technology enables venues to stream the content they want in HD quality to their existing TVs, either via an app or plug and play hardware, with no need for a satellite or cable TV connection.

Robert Rawlinson, chief executive of Screenreach, said: “Fite and Fightzone are already bringing the thrill of live sport to millions of fight fans via their direct-to-consumer offerings, so the move into the enterprise space with Screach is a logical next step for both networks.

“Our platform gives them the ability to sell subscriptions quickly and easily to millions of enterprise venues around the world, but it also offers a potentially bigger prize – the chance to engage with huge additional audiences and promote their consumer offering to countless thousands of new fans.

“Fite and Fightzone are just the kind of dynamic, forward-thinking rights holders Screach likes to partner with. We’re delighted to be helping them accelerate their growth and empowering more venues to show the content they and their customers want.”
