Paris 2024 awards advertising and marketing contract to Havas

The organising committee of the Paris 2024 Olympics has awarded a contract to Havas Media, the media arm of the international advertising giant, to manage its advertising and marketing for the games following a tender process.
The agency has been chosen to manage the budget for media consulting and the purchase of advertising space across various media including TV, press, billboards, radio, and cinema on behalf of the games.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Havas expands its relationship with the organising committee after a previous collaboration in 2016 to create a campaign to support its candidacy to host the Olympics.
Paris 2024 had also launched a tender for the sale of advertising rights on its digital media platforms but a contract was not awarded.
The organisers have, therefore, relaunched the tender with a deadline of 4 January.
In March, Paris 2024 awarded another key contract for the games, choosing Le Coq Sportif, the French sportswear manufacturer, as its kit supplier.
Etienne Thobois, the Paris 2024 chief executive, also recently expressed confidence that it would achieve its sponsorship revenue target of €1.1 billion ($1.3 billion) despite the coronavirus pandemic having decimated corporate budgets worldwide.
