National Lacrosse League and Fanatics in multi-year partnership
National Lacrosse League, the leading North American indoor competition, has struck a multi-year partnership with Fanatics, the US online licensed sportswear and merchandise retailer.
Fanatics is cementing the league’s online merchandise and retail sites into one platform - NLLShop.com, which is now live and accessible globally.
The new store, the NLL said, “provides rapid navigation for fans across desktop and mobile sites, featuring hi-resolution product displays, frictionless checkout, and the widest assortment of NLL merchandise for all members of the family”, using Fanatics’ Cloud Commerce Platform.
The NLL’s clubs have traditionally run their merchandise operations separately, whereas now all online merchandise sales will be housed under the NLLShop.com banner.
Nick Sakiewicz, the NLL’s commissioner, said: “Fanatics is simply the best and most innovative consumer e-commerce sports retailer in the world, and this partnership will give us a great opportunity to realise the league’s potential.
“This international approach gives us the ability to have a streamlined one-stop shop to offer NLL merchandise where sports fans shop online.”
The full schedule for the upcoming 14-franchise 2021 NLL season is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Last week, Fanatics brought in Younes Layati as its new licensing director.
In his new role, Layati, who joined from sportswear giant Nike, will be responsible for driving the company’s international licensing strategy, working day-to-day with existing partners across several global leagues and properties to maximise their online and offline commerce offerings.
