NBA and T3N form partnership entailing Madrid facility

North American basketball’s NBA has entered into a partnership in Spain with T3N Sport & Investment, a specialist training and development sports consultancy.
The partnership means that T3N will be an official partner of the NBA in Spain, and open an NBA Basketball School at the T3N Sport Center in Madrid.
The school is set to open by the autumn of 2021, and will include three indoor courts, all with NBA branding, as well as the NBA School itself, open to players of both genders between the ages of 6 and 18.
Chris Bueno, NBA vide-president of basketball operations, and Spain, said: “The T3N Sport Center will be a world-class facility where the next generation of basketball talent in Spain can develop their skills and learn the values of the game.”
Kiyomi Cerezo, T3N Sport & Investment’s chief executive, added: “Through this partnership with the NBA, the complex will become a world reference in sports and education.”
There are already NBA Basketball Schools in Brazil, Greece, India and the United Arab Emirates.

T3N’s Sport Center will also feature American football fields, a gym, a library and a residential site. In July this year, Spanish soccer’s LaLiga revealed it would have a presence on the site.

Spain won the FIBA Basketball Men’s World Cup last year, and several Spanish players currently ply their trade in the NBA, including Marc Gasol (pictured right) of the Toronto Raptors.

Elsewhere, Euroleague Basketball, the organiser of Europe's elite clubs competition, has today launched the first of its online merchandise stores in collaboration with retail giant Amazon.

The first Turkish Airlines Euroleague store stocks a special range of merchandise, including club logos and player images, from all 18 Euroleague teams.

Official merchandise, including club jerseys, from four teams - Olympiacos Piraeus, TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Valencia Basket and Zalgiris Kaunas - will be available on the site.

A new section of the main Amazon site dedicated to Euroleague products including basketballs and watches has also opened.

Roser Queralto, Euroleague Basketball’s chief business officer, said: “Euroleague Basketball has teamed up with Amazon… to make sure that fans have easy worldwide access to all the official merchandise they need… [This] offers the perfect opportunity for fans to support their clubs.”
