Lanistar strikes multi-fight sponsorship deal with Matchroom
Matchroom Boxing, the UK promoter headed up by Eddie Hearn, has agreed a multi-fight sponsorship deal with Lanistar, the fintech banking company.
The agreement was signed in time for Saturday night’s heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora in London, which aired on pay-per-view's Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on DAZN in nine markets worldwide, including the US. Usyk beat Chisora on points.
The Lanistar partnership covered all the fights on Saturday's undercard, and extends to next weekend's WBC world lightweight title fight between Devin Haney and Yuriorkis Gamboa in Florida and, again, the undercard.
Gurhan Kiziloz, chief executive and founder of Lanistar, said: "On our quest to take over the world, we have aligned ourselves with Matchroom who we believe embodies Lanistar’s spirit and overall vision. We look forward to building a great relationship with them and are hugely anticipating this remarkable deal."
Hearn added: "Just like Matchroom, Lanistar are an innovative and vibrant company with huge ambitions and we look forward to working with Gurhan and his team on an exciting deal for all."
