Sportfive brokers kit supply deal between Puma and Füchse Berlin
Puma, the German sportswear giant, has signed a kit sponsorship deal with Füchse Berlin, a top-tier handball team from the German capital.
The deal was brokered by Sportfive, the newly renamed international sports marketing agency, with Puma replacing Hummel, the Danish sportswear brand.
Puma will supply the first team and the youth team with match kit, training apparel and other accessories. The brand will also provide a range of clothing for the team’s supporters shop.
Hummel’s contract expires later this week, after having supplied the team’s kit since 2014.
Matthias Bäumer, the general manager for Puma DACH, said: “The partnership with the ‘Foxes’ marks another important milestone in our steadily growing involvement in handball… Our expertise makes us a strong, reliable and innovative partner for the club.”
Stefan Kretzschmar, a Füchse Berlin board member, and also a Puma ambassador, added: “It’s nice to see that such a global brand is committed to handball, it shows the importance of our sport and the potential of the Foxes.”
In January, Puma struck a long-term deal with the DHB, the German handball federation, to exclusively kit out the national teams.
It covers the national teams in indoor and beach handball, as well as all coaching staff and referees.
