Roma connect with Acronis in data protection partnership
AS Roma, of Italian soccer’s top-tier Serie A, have signed a sponsorship deal with Acronis, an international technology company that specialises in data protection and hybrid cloud storage.
Acronis is now Roma’s official Artificial Intelligence partner, and will be providing the club with AI and machine learning technology which can be used for data processing and cyber protection, for both on-field and off-field operations.
Francesco Calvo, the club’s chief operating officer, said: “The more important data is, the more at risk it becomes. That is why we are partnering with Acronis, to not only help us analyse and improve the quality of the data we collect, but also to protect it.”
Acronis already has partnerships in place with English Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.
Roma's existing sponsors include Nike, Qatar Airways and Hyundai.
The new deal has been announced ahead of the resumption of Serie A, which has been on hiatus for nearly three months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, with a provisional return date of 20 June.
