Roc Nation adds Italy's Bernardeschi to growing soccer stable
Italy international Federico Bernardeschi has become the latest soccer player to join the stable of Roc Nation, the entertainment and sports management company founded by Shawn Carter, the US rapper and music producer better known as Jay-Z.
The 26-year-old Juventus attacker will now have his image rights handled by Roc Nation.
Michael Yormark, president of Roc Nation Sports International, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Federico to the Roc Nation Sports family. His dedication to philanthropic work throughout this pandemic is a true testament to his character and aligns perfectly with our company values. We are very proud of what he has achieved during this challenging period, and we look forward to helping him reach all of his goals and objectives in the future.”
Bernardeschi is the first Italian on the Roc Nation books but the agency has been building up a strong portfolio in European soccer, including Belgian internationals Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Romelu Lukaku (Inter Milan) and Axel Witsel (Borussia Dortmund), Manchester United's Ivorian defender Eric Bailly and Villareal's Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.
Last December, Roc Nation made its first foray into rugby union, signing up Siya Kolisi, the captain of world champions South Africa.
Major clients in USA include NBA basketball stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, NFL American football wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster and Major League Baseball veteran Robinson Cano.
