Global MD Meier exits Red Bull Media House
Gerrit Meier has quit as global managing director of Red Bull Media House, the media subsidiary of the energy drink brand, according to reports in Austria.
Meier, who joined RBMH in late 2016, is leaving for "personal reasons," Der Standard reported.
RBMH has not commented on the 49-year-old's departure.
Meier, who is also chief executive of the Red Bull Media Network, joined the company after a short spell as a senior strategic advisor at US media giant CBS. Prior to that he was president of international business at USA's World Wrestling Entertainment.
His exit is understood to be part of a wider realignment of the RMBH business, which will focus on Red Bull marketing, with Servus TV, the group's free-to-air broadcaster in Austria, having taken back control of advertising sales.
RBMH handles the international distribution of the Red Bull Content Pool, which includes action sports events such as Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, Red Bull Ice Cross World Championship, World Enduro Super Series, Red Bull King of the Air, Red Bull Rampage and Red Bull Soapbox.
