Texaco Havoline renews digital partnership with ITU
Chevron, which markets US engine oil brand Texaco Havoline in Europe, has renewed its partnership with the International Triathlon Union as official over-the-top digital partner in 2020.
The new deal builds on last year’s partnership which coincided with the launch by the ITU of on-demand OTT streaming platform TriathlonLive.tv, developed in partnership with Infront, the international sports marketing company.
James Welchman, manager marketing EMEA, Chevron Lubricants, said: “As well as being one of the fastest growing sports in the world, triathlon and multisports manage to be both aspirational and accessible to all, and Texaco looks forward to playing its own part in bringing even more people into the World Triathlon family in the future.”
TriathlonLive.tv features live events, including the World Triathlon Series and the Almere Multisport World Championships and a full schedule of World Cup events.
Viewers will also have access to a wider selection of events including some Continental Cups, the Norseman, Xterra World Championships, SuperLeague and Challenge Roth, plus athlete interviews and other features, including training tips and advice from team coaches.
ITU president Marisol Casado said: "After its growth and success last year, we are thrilled that World Triathlon’s OTT platform is able to go one step further in such a huge year for our sport. Last season we opened new doors in terms of capacity to deliver live coverage not just from the World Series but from World Cups and beyond. This year our ambitions are to go beyond once again in terms of the quality and quantity of our content.”
