Lagardère Sports strengthens Dortmund ranks with Rochford hire

The Lagardère Sports agency has appointed Chris Rochford as director of sales, global partnerships within its Borussia Dortmund team.
Rochford will be tasked with bringing in new commercial partners for the top German soccer club.
He joins from Kinross Sport, a boutique sports management and consultancy in London, where he spent the last three years as commercial manager. Before that, Rochford was a commercial executive at Fulham, the English second-tier club.
Dortmund are one of Lagardère Sports' headline clients in Germany, with around 20 staff from the agency contracted to recruit new sponsors, manage relations with existing sponsors, develop new sponsorship concepts and market hospitality packages.
The agreement between the club and the agency runs until 2026.
Last month, Dortmund and Puma, the German sportswear firm, extended their kit supply deal until the end of the 2027-28 season in an eight-year agreement worth €250 million ($277 million), or €31.25 million per season, up from the current €10 million per annum contract.
