DFB seals streaming deal with soccerwatch.tv for women's second-tier
The DFB, the German soccer federation, has struck a deal with online platform soccerwatch.tv to live-stream matches from the 2. Frauen-Bundesliga, the domestic second-tier for women.
The agreement runs to the end of the 2020-21 season.
For the remaining month of this season, all 14 clubs in the league will be provided with AI-controlled camera technology from soccerwatch.tv, which will be installed in the stadiums themselves from next season.
All games from the league will be streamed in high definition on Fussball.de and soccerwatch.tv. Highlights will be made available on an on-demand basis.
In addition, coaches of 2. Frauen-Bundesliga clubs will be given access to the soccerwatch.tv coaching tool, which enables clubs to analyse their games and players.
Heike Ullrich, the DFB's director of associations, clubs and leagues, said: "The partnership with soccerwatch.tv is an effective added value for the DFB and especially for the 2nd Women's Bundesliga. Soccerwatch.tv digitalises and makes the 2nd Women's Bundesliga so visible to a wider audience, an innovation step in the right direction."
