Alibaba and Times Internet help fund eSports analytics venture
Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant that is an International Olympic Committee ‘TOP’ sponsor, and Time Internet, the digital arm of the Times Group, the largest media conglomerate in India, have joined a series C funding worth Rs150 million ($2 million) for an eSports analytics venture by Vidooly Media Tech.
Alibaba is providing the majority of the funding, some Rs143 million.
Vidooly launched eSports Analytics last September to provide market forecasts, data tracking and consumer insights for brands, game studios, online streaming platforms and eSports organisers.
The product was launched across 150 million users on Amazon’s Twitch and Microsoft’s Mixer, tracking accounts that collectively generate over 5 billion monthly views.
