Mexico's Lucha Libre completes switch to TV Azteca

Wrestling - 08 Feb 2019
Author: Simon Ward

TV Azteca, the Mexican commercial broadcaster, has agreed a deal to take on the rights to Lucha Libre, the colourful domestic professional wrestling series, with effect from this month.

As expected, Azteca is replacing rival Televisa, which has been the home of the series for the past 27 years, but whose withdrawal was announced last week.

Under the new agreement with promoter AAA, from 15 February Azteca will offer a two-hour show every Friday, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
