SAFA secures R50m match officials sponsorship deal
The South African Football Association has signed a new sponsorship deal with OUTsurance, a leading domestic insurance company, covering officials in soccer matches in the country.
The deal was announced on Tuesday and is worth R50 million ($3.3 million) over five years.
OUTsurance branding will appear on the kit of officials in all Absa Premiership, National First Division, ABC Motsepe League, SAB League, SASOL Women's League and domestic cup matches.
It is said to be the first-ever soccer match official sponsorship in South Africa, and the partnership with SAFA will entail skills training development for referees and new remuneration packages for officials.
