First Korean sponsor for Spanish champions Barcelona
Barcelona, the Spanish soccer giants, have signed up SK Lubricants as their first-ever Korean sponsor.
The company will serve as the club’s official lubricant partner in a three-year regional deal that takes in South Korea, China, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam.
SK Lubricants will have rights in the categories of lubricants and engine oil.
The deal was announced in Beijing on Saturday, ahead of Barcelona’s opening LaLiga match of the 2018-19 season.
The Catalan club beat Alavés 3-0 at home as it began the defence of the title it won, by 14 points from Atlético Madrid, in the last campaign.
Meanwhile, Valencia have agreed a deal with beer brewer Heineken for its Amstel brand to serve as a club sponsor in the 2018-19 season, according to Spanish reports.
Details have yet to emerge, but it is thought that Amstel will receive branding at Valencia’s Mestalla Stadium and on digital media.
Sponsors the club has signed up ahead of the new campaign include Hackett, B The Travel Brand and EA Sports, the latter in place of rival video games producer Konami.
Valencia kick off their LaLiga campaign at home to Atlético this evening.
