Brazil's Band seals five-year PBR rights deal with IMG
Action from the Professional Bull Riders, the international bull riding circuit owned by Endeavor, the combined Hollywood talent agency and sports and entertainment company previously known as WME-IMG, is to be made widely available in Brazil through Bandeirantes, the free-to-air commercial broadcaster.
Bandeirantes' cable sports network BandSports, which is available in 6 million homes, and agricultural channel TV Terraviva, which reaches 36 million homes, will televise live, delayed and highlights action over the next five years in a deal brokered by IMG Media.
The contract covers the 10 annual events in the PBR Monster Energy Championship in Brazil, as well as highlights of 27 events from the sport’s elite series, the PBR: Unleash the Beast from USA.
News and highlights will additionally be carried on the Bandnews channel.
Martha Cajado, chief executive of PBR Brazil, said: “This new relationship... will help bring PBR to new audiences and help the sport continue to grow in a country extremely passionate about bull riding.”
