Canal Plus nears record Ligue 1 audience of season
Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Marseille last night attracted the second-highest audience of the Ligue 1 season on Canal Plus, the French pay-TV broadcaster.
PSG's dominant 3-0 win was watched by an average audience of 2.32 million subscribers.
An average of 505,000 viewers watched the game on MyCanal, the broadcaster’s live streaming app and website.
Canal Plus’ highest audience of the season remains the 2.57 million subscribers for the first game between Marseille and PSG in October.
Last month's PSG-Lyon clash was watched by an average of 1.96 million subscribers, at the time Canal Plus' second most-watched Ligue 1 game of the 2017-18 campaign.Canal Plus holds three Ligue 1 rights packages (including the top two packages), paying €540 million (now $665.4 million) per year and keeping the top games in a four-season deal that expires in 2020.
