Errea replaces Fila as World Archery supplier
Errea, the Italy-based sportswear manufacturer, has replaced compatriot Fila as the official apparel supplier to World Archery, the sport's governing body.
Errea becomes a top-tier main sponsor and supplier of World Archery technical officials and staff uniforms under the three-year agreement.
It also becomes the main sponsor of Hyundai Archery World Cup and World Archery Championship events in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.
In addition, Errea will work with national archery federations to develop team uniforms.
Ugur Erdener, president of World Archery, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Errea Sport as an official sponsor of World Archery and are excited to work with a company that has proven both so innovative and so successful in its approach to developing bespoke clothing for a wide range of sports. Archery’s athletes have embraced Errea’s high-quality products and we’re happy to have the company join us on our journey through the next Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.”
Errea president Angelo Gandolfi added: “As a federation that is consistently looking to push boundaries as it expands the sport’s reach worldwide, World Archery embodies the principles of innovation and the strive for excellence that is core to Errea’s business.”
Errea joins Longines, Hyundai and Sportoto as official partners of World Archery.
The company is well-known for its work in volleyball, where it supplies kit to the national federations of France, Belgium, Italy and Turkey, among others, and is also the equipment supplier to the French gymnastics teams.
It hit the headlines in June 2016 thanks to its long-running kit deal with the KSI, the Icelandic soccer association. Iceland’s surprise victories over England and Austria at Euro 2016 grabbed the attention of the international sporting public and sparked a surge in replica shirt sales across Europe as the team ultimately bowed out to hosts France in the last eight.
